How long have you been arranging tours?
Elin Babcock has been working with tour groups for over 25 years. She started
with student groups to Europe and then graduated to small adult tours. Both
Michael Gibson and Elin are artists as well as travel guides. They are passionate
about sharing their love for unique places and travel experiences.
Michael Gibson has worked with Elin since 2005 and comes from an educational background. He is an Art Historian as well as an acclaimed artist.
Who is ACIS?
Elin has worked with the American Council For International Studies, ACIS,
for over 20 years. They are a fully bonded company based in Boston with offices
in many major American and international cities. ACIS is an educational based

How big are the groups?
We offer tours with no more than 20 persons. We like to acquaint our travelers with
the personal travel experience which includes public transportation, local
restaurants, and intimate experiences and unique travel opportunities.
What kind of shape do I have to be in to travel?
Our trips are designed for people with moderate walking ability. Because we
offer a 1/2 day experience, the rest of the day is open for the travelers
to explore. We suggest however that our travelers start a walking program
at home.
What should I pack?
Pack light—you won't regret it because we will be responsible for carrying our
own luggage on and off the bus and onto trains. Layer clothing and bring comfortable,
practical clothes that you can wear more than once, with a few nice pieces
thrown in. Never bring new shoes. Ask for sample packing list.
What documents do I need to travel?
If you are an American citizen, you will only need a US passport valid 6 months
after our return date.
The travel documents for people from other countries vary. Please ask us for details.
Do I have trip insurance with ACIS?
Yes. Your ACIS Registration Fee includes coverage under our Basic Protection
Plan. ACIS recommends you upgrade your insurance coverage by purchasing the Ultimate
Protection Plan designed specifically for you travel needs. With the
Ultimate Protection Plan, you may cancel for any reason up to the day of
departure and receive a cash refund. You will also receive expanded travel
protection while on tour.
Where do we stay? Can I have my own room?
ACIS groups stay in three- and four-star conveniently located hotels. They
place a priority on booking hotels in good locations and safe areas, with
convenient access to both local attractions and public transportation. Yes,
we offer a single supplement rate on an availability basis.
Can I make my own flight arrangements?
Yes, we offer land-only pricing. You would meet the group at the first hotel.
Can I extend my stay and come back from a different country?
ACIS offers extensions and the price is determined by weekend or weekday return
and which alternate major airport you wish to use. The airports are London,
Paris, Rome, Madrid and Frankfurt.
